CE Mark is a conformity and safety mark created in 1985 in order to ensure the free movement of goods between countries within the framework of the Customs Agreement of the European Union.
Attaching the CE mark on a product shows that it is safe for life, property and the environment and complies with the New Approach Directives of the European Union.
The CE mark indicates that the products sold in Turkey and the European Economic Area (EEA) have been evaluated and conformed to meet high safety, health and environmental protection requirements. For this reason, "CE" marking is a mandatory requirement for a product to be sold and used in Turkey and the EEA.
CE marking also supports fair competition by holding all companies accountable to the same rules.
A manufacturer, by affixing the CE mark to the product they produces, declares that the product meets all legal requirements for CE marking and can be sold throughout the EEA,. CE marking requirements are also mandatory for products sold in the EEA but manufactured in other countries.
There are two main benefits that CE marking provides to businesses and consumers within the EEA:
Important: For products not covered by the New Approach Directives, the affixing of the CE marking is prohibited.
